Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients. This role requires a strong understanding of respiratory physiology, anatomy, and pathology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and assess the function of oxygen and therapeutic gas delivery systems.
  • Provide aerosolized medication and other respiratory treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and maintain ventilators, ensuring proper set-up and function.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, including ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, and nitric oxide pulmonary hypertension studies.
  • Assess and reassess patients for therapy, including vital signs, breath sounds, and oxygen requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • 1 year of experience in respiratory care, with preference for new graduates.
