Job Summary

Melmark is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ABA Counselor-Residential to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in providing instruction and support to individuals with autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and acquired brain injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized programs to promote intellectual, emotional, and social growth in assigned individuals.
  • Assist in developing and implementing effective behavior analytic interventions to reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a safe and supportive living environment.
  • Provide instruction and support to individuals in their daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records of individual's behavior and treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, education, special education) or 50 college credits with relevant experience.
  • Valid US driver's license and ability to obtain Melmark driver status.
  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, and Crisis Intervention.
  • Strong teaching and interpersonal skills, with experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to implement function-based interventions and work collaboratively with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a residential setting with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of physical and emotional demands. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in challenging situations.

Compensation

Starting rate: $18.00/hour (with 50 college credits) or $20.50/hour (with a bachelor's degree), plus additional compensation based on years of direct experience.
