Job Summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Telecom Test - Communication Maintenance Services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections of transmission and distribution electrical equipment using infrared thermography camera equipment.
  • Conduct SF6 leak inspections using Optical Gas Imaging camera and create reports of findings.
  • Test and inspect Telecommunication shelters, battery systems, and other equipment.
  • Analyze battery test data to verify compliance with manufacturer specifications and agency requirements.
  • Fill out inspection sheets and create electronic test reports of findings in MS Excel.
  • Perform HVAC maintenance, including filter changes and cleaning.
  • Inspect standby generators, troubleshoot issues, and call for service when repairs are needed.
  • Keep organized documentation of all maintenance performed.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings such as schematics, wiring, logic, and interconnections diagrams and update drawings with any field changes.
  • Test cathodic protection systems and perform associated corrosion inspections.
  • Provide input to reports, drawings, sketches, logs, and records of work performed.
  • Review test reports of test technicians for accuracy.
  • Provide training for lower-level technicians in the department.
  • May train junior level employees.
  • Provide technical expertise, advice, and support to engineering, construction, test, and other personnel as required.
  • May assist CMS Engineers with maintenance and repairs of transformer monitoring systems at electrical substations.
  • Work safely in both individual and team environments.
  • May use company-provided vehicle to tow trailers to support Telecommunication-related tasks.
Requirements
  • HS diploma and 5+ years of experience testing and/or troubleshooting electrical systems/components required; Technical HS preferred.
  • Associate degree in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or equivalent considered a plus.
  • Experience testing, programming, and communicating with intelligent electronic devices through command line interface is considered a plus.
  • Cathodic Protection experience or NACE CP1 certification is a plus.
  • Electrical license strongly preferred.
