Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Develops and manages the annual budget; recruits, hires, and ensures adequate staffing levels through effective scheduling.
- Secures resources that foster a high-quality work environment; guarantees compliance with regulations and laws.
- Engages in state and federal nursing home survey processes; drafts and implements any necessary corrective action plans.
- Participates in Quality Assurance/Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Oversees the management and auditing of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), including training, documentation, and reporting.
- Stays informed about and implements new programs or practices.
- Takes responsibility for activities under direct oversight; organizes and plans departmental work.
- Promotes collaborative relationships within and across departments.

Resident Care Management
- Conducts timely pre-admission assessments; ensures comprehensive nursing assessments are performed for all residents, with care plans tailored to their needs.
- Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of care plans and modifies them as necessary.
- Ensures that the use of restraints or seclusion complies with facility policies.
- Guarantees that residents are provided with choices regarding their care and are protected from neglect or abuse.
- Reports any concerns regarding resident rights or potential abuse in accordance with facility protocols.

Communication and Documentation
- Facilitates residents' access to their records upon request.
- Ensures timely notification of physicians regarding changes in resident conditions and processes their orders efficiently.
- Maintains accurate and thorough records for each resident.
- Ensures staff are adequately trained and effectively utilizing the scheduling system.
- Participates in care conferences, special events, and task forces; explains procedures to residents during interactions.

Physical and Emotional Monitoring
- Reports and addresses any physical or emotional concerns observed in residents.
- Ensures families are informed of any changes in resident conditions.
- Adheres to the antibiotic stewardship plan.

Compliance and Other Duties
This position is accountable for compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. The job description is not exhaustive and may evolve over time.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Supervisory experience is preferred, though prior work experience may not be required.
- Registered nurse licensure for the state of practice is mandatory.

Skills and Knowledge
- Strong communication skills and comprehension abilities.
- Familiarity with basic nursing skills and knowledge of the therapeutic effects and side effects of medications.

Physical and Mental Requirements
- The role requires the ability to operate tools and controls, communicate effectively, and maintain a stationary position as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises assigned staff, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Work Environment
