About the Job

KurzSolutions is seeking a highly skilled General Surgeon to join our team at the Lawton Indian Hospital in Oklahoma. As a General Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing surgical consultations, performing emergency surgeries, and rendering assessments of patients requiring transfer to a tertiary care center.

Responsibilities
  • Provide initial assessments of surgery patients requiring admission to the Indian Hospital.
  • Offer surgical consultations to other members of the CIH staff and provide surgical services on an emergency basis after regular hours.
  • Request laboratory and radiological tests as necessary for diagnosis.
  • Provide and order medically indicated treatment.
  • Refer patients to routinely-scheduled clinics of the Indian Hospital Outpatient Department following an exam.
  • Render assessments of Emergency Department patients requiring transfer to a tertiary care center and consult with the appropriate Emergency service physician.
  • Complete a history, physical exam, and admission orders for patients to be admitted to the HIS Comprehensive Indian Health Center.
  • Provide general surgical procedures based on privileges.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures based on privileges.
  • Provide sedation for endoscopic patients based on privileges.
Requirements
  • Must have a permanent, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Must be board certified in or board eligible in general surgery.
  • Must have completed a residency program in an approved General Surgery Training Program.
  • Must provide a copy of documentation of physician's BLS and ACLS certification.
