Job Summary:

The Security Officer will be responsible for:

  • Providing customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Responding to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
  • Conducting regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter
Responsibilities:

The Security Officer will be responsible for:

  • Transporting patients to the emergency room
  • Patrolling the hospital grounds and looking for anything suspicious or concerning
  • Reporting any important information to leadership or other security officers
  • Controlling access to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized people can enter and exit
  • Preventing crime, such as theft, vandalism, and disturbances
  • Responding to emergencies, such as fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters
  • Managing issues with patients or visitors, using verbal de-escalation skills to resolve safety incidents
  • Maintaining confidentiality when handling private information
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (21 for Armed or Taser Positions)
  • Have a high school diploma, college degree, or GED
  • Have 5 years of work experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 2 years verifiable work history
  • Pass a background investigation and drug screen
  • Have a valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying
  • Be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting
  • Be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
Working Conditions:

The Security Officer will work in a hospital/healthcare environment, which may include:

  • Climbing and descending stairs to all floors of the hospital
  • Occasionally bending/twisting at the waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
  • Assisting in lifting patients as needed
  • Restraint of violent/combative patients to prevent injuries
  • Working in various environments, including adverse outdoor conditions
