Job Title: Fire Inspector I

Join the City of Henderson team as a Fire Inspector I and play a vital role in ensuring public safety and enforcing fire codes. As a Fire Inspector I, you will conduct general inspections, enforce codes, and provide information to the public. This is an entry-level position that requires a strong understanding of fire safety and code enforcement principles.

Job Summary:

The Fire Inspector I is responsible for conducting fire inspections, enforcing fire codes, and providing information to the public. This position requires a strong understanding of fire safety and code enforcement principles. The Fire Inspector I will work under general supervision and perform a variety of tasks, including conducting general inspections, enforcing codes, and providing information to the public.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fire inspections to ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations
  • Enforce fire codes and regulations through education and enforcement
  • Provide information to the public on fire safety and code enforcement
  • Work with other departments to ensure public safety and code enforcement
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Two years of experience conducting fire code inspections and/or conducting plans examining or drafting
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license
  • Must obtain and maintain certification as a Fire Inspector I from the International Code Council (ICC) within 12 months of hire
  • Must obtain certification as a Fire Inspector II from the International Code Council (ICC) within two years of hire
