The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Mercy - St. Charles in Oregon, OH. This Part Time position involves performing various admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital while ensuring compliance with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign accurate medical records numbers and complete necessary checks
- Operate the telephone switchboard for effective communication
- Adhere to policies while providing compassionate customer service
- Achieve point of service goals
- Utilize auditing systems for corrective actions and reporting
- Pre-register patient accounts and collect necessary information
- Explain consent forms and distribute patient education documents
- Review eligibility responses and enter benefit data accurately
- Screen medical necessity using designated software
Requirements
1+ years of customer service experience
Education
High School Diploma/GED Required
Certifications
CRCR Required within 6 months of hire
