Position Summary:
The Architectural Project Leader will oversee the planning and design, and/or facilitate the execution of new construction projects, as well as the planning, design, and/or facilitation of building expansions or renovations tailored to clients' needs, aspirations, and financial capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages with clients to ascertain their requirements, approximate budget, timeline, and potential future expansion needs.
  • Identifies clients' preferences concerning materials, styles, colors, and other relevant factors.
  • Collaborates with clients to prioritize their needs versus desires.
  • Aids clients in clarifying their priorities and vision by creating preliminary sketches of various options.
  • Develops and presents designs, specifications, estimated costs, and proposed construction timelines.
  • Generates detailed plans that incorporate engineering, electrical, and HVAC considerations; presents these plans to clients for feedback and approval.
  • Adjusts new or existing plans as necessary.
  • Prepares scale drawings and contract requirements for bidding purposes.
  • Works alongside clients to select and award construction contracts.
  • Collaborates with the lead builder and clients to ensure the construction process aligns with clients' specifications.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

This position does not entail supervisory duties.


Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant architectural design experience is required.
  • Strong proficiency in architectural design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, and Enscape.
  • In-depth knowledge of architectural design principles, building systems, local building codes and regulations, and construction methods is essential.
  • Active board licensure in the State of Michigan is required.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging work environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to client sites and attend in-person meetings as required.
