Overview:
Delivers specialized healthcare services in both outpatient and acute care environments for various acute or chronic health issues in designated populations, adhering to applicable scope and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducts patient interviews to gather medical history and performs assessments through observation and examination. Orders, executes, and interprets diagnostic tests. Conducts preventive health evaluations, screenings, immunizations, and care.
Administers direct treatment and management of health conditions, utilizing prescriptive authority and referring patients to other healthcare professionals or community resources as necessary.
Provides both inpatient and outpatient care, encompassing preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative services, as well as critical care and intensive care management.

Minimum Required Education:
Master's degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a specialization in the relevant area of practice.
Required Licensure/Certification:
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Relevant life support certification as determined by position level. Appropriate credentialing through Medical Staff Services. Prescriptive authority as applicable, per medical staff service privileging process.
Certification by ANCC or AANP, licensing verification by the State Board of Nursing, and searches of the HSS, EPLS, and DEA systems.
Minimum Experience:
Preferred: 5 years of experience in the relevant area of expertise.
IF APPLICABLE:
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
Requirements for Physician Assistants
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Colorado.
- Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) issued by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
- Eligible to provide reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
- Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusions from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspectors General (HHS/OIG) or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
- Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges.
- Prescriptive authority as applicable, per medical staff service privileging process.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
