Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technician I to join our team at Duke Energy. As a CT Technician I, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of combustion turbine equipment at our Weatherspoon Combustion Turbine facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on combustion turbine equipment, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.
  • Monitor and control the operation of combustion turbine equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of equipment to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the facility and achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve equipment performance and reduce maintenance costs.
Requirements
  • Technical or Associate's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a power plant or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of combustion turbine equipment and operation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with maintenance management systems, such as Maximo.
  • Knowledge of digital control systems and programmable logic controllers.
  • Experience with heavy equipment rigging and operation.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent overtime, including weekend work and holidays. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to travel up to 15-20% for training and support of other Duke Energy facilities.

This position is subject to a physical and respirator fit test, and you must be able to wear a respirator and work in a variety of environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, dust, and humidity.

You must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a medical physical, including a respirator fit test.

This position contains a weight restriction of 325 pounds as an essential function of the job.
