Fence Installation Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Fence Installation Driver to join our team at United Rentals. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering, installing, removing, and repairing temporary fencing equipment in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and install temporary fencing equipment at customer sites, ensuring proper load securement and safe operation of equipment.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safe and correct operation.
  • Conduct pre-use and post-use inspections on fence installation tools to ensure their safe and correct operation.
  • Meet with customers to review assigned fencing projects prior to installation and follow up as required throughout the installation project.
  • Prepare customer job sites for fence installation, setting fence poles, installing fence, and pulling fence with appropriate tools and to customer specifications.
  • Coordinate the work of the Fence Installation Associate, routinely inspecting work progress and training on safety protocols and proper fence installation techniques.
  • Repair temporary fencing units at job sites as requested by customers.
  • Provide onsite moves, pick-up, and delivery of fencing as requested by customers.
  • May operate a forklift for loading and unloading of fencing truck, moving fencing equipment/materials on company property, or at a customer job site.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Diligent attention to safety.
  • Basic knowledge of safe driving procedures.
  • One (1) year of truck driving experience required (CDL license is preferred, but not required), DOT medical card must be obtained prior to commencing employment.
  • Two (2) years fencing and/or construction industry experience is preferred (Training is provided).
  • Ability to locate and understand utility markings, and follow requirements for underground utility safety (training provided).
  • Ability to operate a forklift (training provided).
  • Superior customer service.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Ability to mount and dismount trucks multiple times daily.
  • Ability to frequently lift, move, push, pull, twist, and turn items up to 45 pounds, and in excess of 45 pounds with assistance, in the loading and unloading of equipment.
  • Ability to drive day or night.
  • Work effectively in all weather conditions and customer work environments.
  • Some weekend work may be required as business conditions dictate.
