We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant Education. This full-time position is focused on supporting a middle school ASD classroom with a manageable caseload and dedicated classroom support.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement tailored IEPs to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with Support Staff: Work closely with two paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Establish a Positive Learning Environment: Create and maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that fosters academic and personal growth.
- Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, adapting instruction as needed to achieve educational goals.
- Coordinate with Parents and Professionals: Work closely with parents, school staff, and other professionals to coordinate and enhance student support.
- Participate in IEP Meetings: Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational and behavioral strategies.
- Education and Certification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field, and valid Virginia Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience and Skills: Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
