Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance/Test Technician is responsible for executing quality control and assurance inspection and testing activities related to the manufacturing and distribution of networking products. This role involves collaboration with quality engineers for calibration tasks, rework, and testing associated with the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. The technician utilizes advanced software to gather and analyze data, assists engineers in experimental procedures, and conducts assembly and testing of system solutions according to established test plans and protocols. The technician also identifies and characterizes defects, providing comprehensive documentation for both successful and unsuccessful test outcomes. Maintaining accurate records of testing operations and reporting findings to engineering is essential, as is assisting test engineers in diagnosing and replicating product failures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality inspections on customer returns, pre-delivery products, and during receiving and shipping processes.
- Perform audits on the production line.
- Manage nonconforming products effectively.
- Implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Support product and process failure analysis.
- Execute basic statistical analyses.
- Carry out prototype testing, debugging, system integration assembly, and experimental testing.
- Collaborate with Test Engineers and Product Engineers on testing experiments and manufacturing issues.
- Engage with warehouse and business unit personnel on quality assurance activities.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong professionalism, courtesy, and excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Positive and productive interaction across various organizational functions.
- Ownership of responsibilities and effective interpersonal relationship management.

Education:
Completion of a one-year certificate program from a college or technical school.
Work Environment:
The physical demands for this position include a typical office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs, and regular activities such as walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching. The role requires consistent work on a PC and the ability to sit and use a keyboard and/or telephone for extended periods.
Interactions:
This position primarily collaborates with internal departments including Test Engineering, Quality Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, as well as personnel from Business Units and Operations.
Tools and Equipment:
The following tools and equipment are frequently utilized in this role: basic electronic assembly tools, PC and MS Office software, basic electronic laboratory tools, and environmental chambers.
