Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Billings Clinic. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, evaluations, consultations, and treatments to assist patients in reaching maximum language, communication, swallowing, and cognitive performance in an acute care hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' physical and functional status with regard to developmental and chronological age by administering and interpreting tests.
  • Develop individual treatment plans to include objective measures, assessments, short- and long-term goals, frequency, and duration of therapy.
  • Observe and interview patients, review medical charts, and consult with physicians or nursing personnel as appropriate.
  • Document timely and regular initial evaluations, progress, and discharge notes consistent with department policy, regulatory agency, and reimbursement requirements.
  • Complete daily patient charges.
  • Demonstrate competency with all acute care medical equipment, both rehabilitation and nursing.
  • Participate in discharge planning and/or care conferences with physicians, nursing, and social services personnel to ensure patients have appropriate assistance and continuation of rehabilitation at home or in other care settings.
  • Identify needs and set goals for own professional growth and development; meet all mandatory requirements.
  • Participate and attend educational meetings with respect to continuing education, co-worker in-services, and Billings Clinic educational course offerings to enhance knowledge and further professional skills.

Requirements

  • Graduate Degree - Master's degree in speech language pathology from an accredited Speech Language Pathology school.
  • Montana Speech Language Pathology license.
  • CPR certified.
