Job Overview
  • This 13-week contract requires a minimum of 36 hours per week, with a shift duration of 12 hours, including nights.

The successful candidate will operate computed tomography (CT) scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that aid physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. The role demands attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the process.

Main Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation and Communication: Verify patient information, position patients properly on the CT table, and instruct them on how to hold their breath or remain still during scans.
  • Operation of CT Equipment: Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, administer contrast agents or dye injections under physician guidance, and monitor equipment during imaging to ensure high-quality images are captured.
  • Image Quality and Review: Review CT images for quality, work closely with radiologists to ensure images meet diagnostic standards, and repeat or adjust scans as necessary.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort: Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure, maintain a sterile environment, and ensure proper patient positioning to prevent risk or discomfort.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare professionals to determine imaging procedures and assist in diagnosing medical conditions, document patient information, and participate in patient care planning.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Maintain, clean, and perform basic troubleshooting on CT equipment, ensure everything is functioning properly, and keep accurate logs of equipment use and maintenance.
  • Radiation Safety and Compliance: Follow radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and stay updated on changes to regulatory standards.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Accurately document imaging procedures, patient information, and adverse events, and ensure all documentation is compliant with hospital policies and industry standards.
  • Patient Education and Support: Provide education and guidance to patients regarding aftercare following contrast injections, address concerns about radiation exposure or claustrophobia, and maintain patient privacy and dignity.
  • Professional Development and Training: Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in CT imaging technology and protocols, attend training sessions and seminars, and maintain professional certification and licensure.

Magnet Medical offers a competitive pay package based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week, with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. The estimated salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
