Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an Environmental Chemist to join our Climate, Energy & Environmental Division. This role will be based in our onsite laboratory, contributing to significant environmental remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute formal chain-of-custody procedures for sample receipt, ensuring accurate verification and logging into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Conduct sample analyses utilizing advanced instrumentation, including alpha and gamma spectroscopy, liquid scintillation counting, and ICP-MS.
- Uphold a pristine laboratory environment by adhering to established decontamination protocols.
- Process and manage sample results, ensuring meticulous data handling and accuracy in reporting.
- Assemble comprehensive data packages, performing primary and secondary reviews to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Follow all safety and radiation protocols diligently throughout laboratory operations.
- Collaborate on various laboratory projects and may require occasional travel to support operations at other facilities.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or a related scientific field, or an Associate's degree with two years of laboratory experience.
- Proficient in reviewing and compiling data files for end-users.
- Experienced in performing counting procedures for various sample types.

Compensation:
This position is governed by the Service Contract Act, with an expected pay range of $28-35/hr, depending on qualifications and experience.
