Job Title: MEP Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Project Manager to join our team at Schnackel Engineers Inc. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of MEP engineering projects, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with engineering planning, MEP design, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in internal meetings to research clients' needs and project scope.
  2. Introduce the project team to clients, outlining roles, tasks, and responsibilities.
  3. Coordinate with architects from the client side and team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  4. Plan the team, time, capacity, and technical resources required for the project.
  5. Set milestones for team members and review job progress, preparing jobs in project management software.
  6. Coordinate with survey teams and architects to ensure accurate project status and management.
  7. Review MEP designs in AutoCAD and provide project management support when clients or team members require it.
  8. Send checklists to clients, collecting information from architects and distributing it to team members.
  9. Attend conference calls with clients and lead discipline break-out meetings to review project scope in detail.
  10. Lead biweekly internal team meetings to discuss project tasks, details, approach, resources, and progress.
  11. Maintain task lists in internal project management software and use ERP software for project management of project jobs, orders, and deadlines.
  12. Track and update daily status and tasks in current projects, scheduling, reviewing, and updating task lists.
  13. Keep email correspondence with clients and internal team members, following up on tasks and client representatives.
  14. Review project budgets regularly and monitor project deadlines.
  15. Ensure the overall project delivery meets requirements and review project documents before delivery.
  16. Deliver project documents to clients and prepare change of agreement (COA) calculations, justification, and add-service requirements.
  17. Review and send COAs to clients and maintain a database of project knowledge for future reference.
  18. Provide methodological support for engineers.
Requirements:
  • ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Five or more years of project management experience with an MEP/FP engineering company or a national retail company, construction engineering company.
  • MEP experience and Revit/CAD experience.
  • Strong communication and project management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently upon receiving information from a client.
