Role Summary
The Retail Software Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in overseeing essential Point of Sale (POS) software systems. This position involves the development, design, implementation, and troubleshooting of POS solutions aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction. As the primary technical liaison, the architect will coordinate with both internal and external business partners and IT teams on all POS initiatives, while also engaging with various stakeholders and cross-functional groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the operational integrity of various POS system processes.
- Facilitate regular meetings with the IT Helpdesk to address production challenges and project roadmaps.
- Conduct ongoing Project Management Meetings with internal stakeholders regarding active IT initiatives.
- Organize routine discussions with vendors and partners related to IT projects.
- Oversee and schedule any modifications to POS software for retail locations.
- Coordinate the development and testing of new POS maintenance and feature enhancements.
- Resolve any production-related issues with the POS systems.
- Provide 24/7 support to both IT and non-IT teams for daily retail operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in managing POS systems.
- Familiarity with security best practices and relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Proficient in using and operating equipment in a POS lab environment.
- Regularly engages with a computer and other office productivity tools.
- Effective communication skills for accurate information exchange with associates.
- Occasional travel to retail locations may be required.
