Packer Trainee Job Description

Bonnell Aluminum is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Packer Trainee to join our team. As a Packer Trainee, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient packing of cartons, following prescribed arrangements and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Properly package finished products to customer specifications
  • Attach identification data onto articles
  • Record factors of damaged goods
  • Assure cores are proper length for product and set correctly
  • Work in a safe manner, always wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation
  • Participate in a team-oriented environment
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures
  • Accept feedback from the Team Leader to ensure bundles meet safety standards
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, with a usually loud and always without air conditioning work environment
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Must pass a skills-based test
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently, self-motivated, self-starter with a minimum of three (3) months related experience and/or will train hands on
  • Must pass company background check and drug screen
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail-oriented
