Job Title: Linux Software Engineering Manager

Canonical is seeking an experienced Linux Software Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team responsible for delivering the core components of Ubuntu. As a key member of our Foundations team, you will be at the forefront of driving Ubuntu's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and grow a team of distributed engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the vision and strategy for Ubuntu.
  • Drive the advancement and adoption of the latest software development practices.
  • Design and implement great engineering and organizational practices.
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience with Linux distributions and packaging technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.
  • High-quality software engineering knowledge in Linux system architecture, boot process, and toolchains.
  • Engagement with open source communities and processes.
