About the Role

Campus Life & Style is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of our properties, equipment, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute all company maintenance programs, establishing protocols and ensuring compliance.
  • Build and lead a team of highly motivated and skilled maintenance staff who provide exceptional customer service to residents and prospects.
  • Develop and implement effective cost control measures, revenue improvement efforts, and budget management strategies to achieve the highest possible net operating income (NOI).
  • Oversee and supervise the day-to-day operations of building services, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and general building maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, interior common areas, and exterior grounds to identify deficiencies, potential safety and health issues, and necessary repairs.
  • Prepare written reports summarizing findings and advise other building users as necessary.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness planning and act as essential personnel in emergencies.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed, personal protective equipment is used, and health and safety policies are enforced.
  • Prioritize and schedule maintenance work, ensuring quality of work performed is top-notch.
  • Manage the maintenance budget and work closely with the General Manager and Regional Facilities Manager to manage facilities and capital budgets.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience managing building systems in student housing.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • 2 years of experience with building automation systems and life safety systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a focus on creativity and challenging the status quo to meet the needs of residents and the company.
