Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Studies Educator to join our team at Lifelong Learning Administration Co. as a Personalized Learning Specialist at our Flex High School location in North Flint, MI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement personalized academic plans for students, taking into account their transcripts, assessment data, career pathway planning, and post-secondary goals.
  • Create and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment, modeling high academic expectations and professional relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Assign and manage courses of study, establishing and communicating learning objectives and content standards.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities to facilitate learning experiences, identifying and implementing strategies to meet students' varying needs.
  • Engage students in academic conversations, fostering critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.
  • Regularly check for understanding, provide clarifying and/or enrichment information, and administer state standardized and school diagnostic assessments.
  • Provide students with meaningful feedback to enhance learning and improve achievement, instructing and monitoring student progress in the use of online learning materials and technology.
  • Model and guide students to develop independent learning skills, such as goal-setting, time management, and accessing/utilizing resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching practices, participate in professional development opportunities, and maintain student folders and records in accordance with school policies and state guidelines.
Requirements
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s) for all subject area(s) being taught.
  • Bachelor's degree with major or minor in designated subject.
  • Thorough knowledge of State Professional Teaching Standards, educational trends, research, and technology to support learning.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs, work effectively with students, parents, staff members, and community representatives, and communicate effectively.
