Job Summary

NCH Corporation, a leading specialty chemicals and services company, is seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Equipment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Equipment Support Division, you will play a critical role in providing technical support to minimize equipment installation and start-up time, while maximizing sales and business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide quality, reliable, and cost-effective technical support for pretreatment and chemical feed systems, ensuring minimal installation time and mechanical/electrical expertise for our sales force and customers.
  • Equipment Preparation: Prepare application quotes using GOE (Global Order Entry) and Bid programs, and review equipment orders for proper application based on Chem-Aqua boiler, cooling, and pre-treatment survey information.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot water treatment equipment locally or remotely, and prepare written technical instructions for equipment as it relates to water treatment equipment.
  • Mathematical Formulas: Use mathematical formulas to size water treatment equipment, and issue and evaluate return authorizations on defective equipment under warranty.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks on feed and control systems prior to shipment, and manage online communications using Advantage's web portal.
  • Training and Development: Train employees, field personnel, and customers in the equipment, tools, work techniques, and skills required to accomplish assignments.
  • Special Projects: Manage and complete special projects set forth by the Equipment Support Manager.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing water treatment equipment or a two-year technical degree from an accredited technical school.
  • Knowledge and Skills: General knowledge of electrical systems and operating a multi-meter, knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings, and proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and Oracle.
  • Physical Abilities: Physical strength and ability to lift up to 40lbs, good visual ability for close-up observations, and good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license, reading ability sufficient to read technical manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, trade magazines, and other technical materials, and good communication skills to deal with the public and work cooperatively with sales force and other company employees.
