About the Role

We are a boutique law firm seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team in South Carolina. As a key member of our team, you will provide top-notch legal services in the areas of Homeowners Association (HOA) law and probate/estate planning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to homeowners associations, including interpreting and enforcing governing documents, advising on board governance and operations, and assisting with dispute resolution.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute legal actions.
  • Develop estate plans for clients, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other related documents.
  • Manage probate and trust administration, including the preparation of court documents, asset distribution, and estate tax returns.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to HOA and probate/estate planning, and advise clients accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure the efficient and effective handling of legal matters.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Current license to practice law in the state of South Carolina.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in HOA law and probate/estate planning.
  • Proven track record of representing clients before courts and government agencies.
  • Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, understandable terms.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research and the use of legal research tools.
