The Custodial Services Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of various facilities, including shared spaces, restrooms, work areas, and outdoor environments as designated.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Ensure the upkeep of shared areas, restrooms, workspaces, and outdoor locations as assigned.
+ Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, stripping floors, waxing, buffing, cleaning windows, and emptying trash receptacles as needed.
+ Conduct thorough cleaning of restrooms, which includes urinals, toilets, walls, mirrors, sinks, and floors.
+ Move and rearrange furniture as required.
+ Maintain accurate records and inventory of cleaning supplies, preparing lists for procurement.
+ Operate cleaning equipment such as electric floor buffers, mops, and other necessary tools and chemicals.
+ Distribute hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
+ Adhere to Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control Programs.
+ Follow all established safety rules and regulations applicable to the facility and job assignment.
+ Assist in ensuring the safety, security, and preservation of company-owned equipment.
+ Engage in physical activities such as climbing, standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and working in various positions.
+ Lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
+ Handle hazardous materials safely.
+ Wear appropriate protective clothing and Personal Protective Equipment.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED is required.
+ A minimum of 1 year of experience in janitorial or custodial work is necessary.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain any required qualifications, certifications, or security clearances.
+ Flexibility to work any assigned shift or schedule.
+ Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English, along with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Familiarity with industrial maintenance equipment, cleaning chemicals, and supplies.
+ Shift work is required.
+ A valid State Driver's License is necessary.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Working conditions may vary from a standard shop environment with minimal physical discomfort to situations where inclement weather may expose individuals to extreme temperatures, wind, rain, etc. Employees may also be required to work in high-noise areas.
