LPN Opportunity in Dermatology

MaineHealth is offering a limited-time sign-on bonus for LPNs in our dermatology department.

Eligibility and Bonus Details
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time LPN position.
  • Bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse in our dermatology department, you will assist with total patient care by performing clinical duties under the supervision of physicians and the clinical manager.

Required Qualifications
  • Diploma from an approved practical nursing program.
  • Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure. Current BLS required.
  • Two years' LPN experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
  • Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions.
  • Understanding of documentation standards.
  • Knowledge of infectious disease management and control safety standards.
  • Skill in reading and following written and oral medical orders.
  • Skill in handling a number of tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug dosages.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and diverse patient populations.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of the electronic medical record.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
