Job Description

Job Title: Nursing Unit Manager

Job Summary:

The Nursing Unit Manager is a key member of the Ahoskie Health and Rehab team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality care is provided to our residents, while also maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the nursing staff, including LPNs, RNs, and CNAs
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular rounds to ensure the quality of care and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement care plans for residents
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care and services
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing staff, including training and development opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Develop and manage the nursing unit budget, including staffing and supplies
  • Collaborate with other departments, including administration, therapy, and dietary, to ensure seamless care and services

Requirements:

  • Current RN or LPN licensure in the state of North Carolina
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a supervisor in a healthcare setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Working Conditions:

The Nursing Unit Manager will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. This individual will be required to stand, walk, and move intermittently throughout the workday, and may be required to lift residents, equipment, or other objects.

Education:

A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is required. A graduate degree in a related field is preferred.
