Job Overview

This role is pivotal in managing all aspects of plant operations concerning Quality Assurance while ensuring adherence to established standards that enhance Safety, Quality, and Efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Quality Assurance Team, ensuring effective communication and guidance among team members.
  • Oversee the UltraDeck Webspeed Quality Assurance program, which includes monitoring completed inspections, addressing identified issues, developing new inspections, and reporting findings to the General Manager.
  • Administer the Quality Assurance Laboratory, including conducting necessary testing and reporting. This encompasses moisture testing of wood trailers, melt testing of railcar samples, and break testing of boards.
  • Direct the Corrective Action program, addressing all necessary corrective measures within the facility related to quality, safety, organization, and efficiency.
  • Oversee the Research and Development initiatives, managing testing related to R&D, documenting results, and communicating findings with the General Manager.
  • Prepare monthly reports regarding the Quality Assurance program, detailing overall statistics such as defect rates and major quality concerns.
  • Contribute significantly to the development and management of new and existing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Possess a minimum of two years of experience in Midwest Manufacturing or a comparable industry, along with relevant training.
  • Preferred experience includes at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact tactfully with guests and team members.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the construction industry.
