Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Claim Coordinator to join our team at Columbus Regional Healthcare System. As a key member of our Patient Accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate payment of medical claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze unpaid third-party payer claims to determine the reason for non-payment and negotiate payment arrangements with payers.
  • Process all correspondence and requests for additional information from third-party payers, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution.
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to ensure hospital payments are accurate and compliant with regulations.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and training to other Patient Accounting employees on claim payment techniques.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum six months of experience in insurance claim processing and follow-up; proficiency in basic office machines and computer applications.
  • Knowledge of third-party insurance payer requirements, including billing and follow-up techniques, electronic claims processing, and government regulations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical record coding, and patient registration techniques.
