We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Rivermont Schools. As a Learning Support Teacher, you will play a vital role in the success of our students, providing academic instruction and mentoring them in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized services for students.
- Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to staff within the classroom, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Design and implement research-based classroom strategies that promote higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and real-world connections for all students.
- Evaluate and assess student mastery of content to inform instructional decisions and drive student progress.
- Communicate student achievements and progress to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the collection of quality indicator data metrics to inform program development and improvement.
- Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to agency policies, FERPA/HIPAA regulations, and student/counselor confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Virginia Department of Education License, License Eligible, or Provisional License Eligible.
- Three years of teaching experience working with children with behavior/learning disorders is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- A positive can-do attitude.
- Valid Virginia Driver's License is preferred.
