The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Advisor to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a key member of our Care Management Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of patient care. Your expertise will be instrumental in promoting a culture of quality, safety, and excellence in our hospital and its affiliates.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilization Management Plan: Develop and lead the Utilization Review Committee, collaborating with the Director of CM to monitor key metrics and drive action steps to achieve targets.
Physician & Staff Education: Provide education to physicians and other clinicians on regulatory requirements, appropriate billing status, and utilization of alternate levels of care. Facilitate referrals to the continuum of care and mentor other physicians on payer requirements.
Care Management: Participate in daily IDRs, taking action to expedite testing and treatment, and promote efficient patient care and appropriate LOC. Act as a liaison with payers to facilitate approvals and prevent denials or carved-out days when appropriate.
Clinical Documentation Integrity: Provide feedback to physicians on clinical documentation, using specific case examples and 3M criteria. Highlight the importance of accurate and detailed documentation in supporting patient care and driving revenue.
Requirements:
We are seeking a Physician Advisor with a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for quality improvement. The ideal candidate will be a licensed physician in the state of residence, board certified in a clinical specialty, and experienced in clinical practice with an understanding of utilization review.
