Neurology Clinic Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Neurology Outpatient Clinic team. As a key member of our care team, you will provide exceptional patient care to our Neuroimmunology patient population, assessing their nursing care needs, evaluating the effectiveness of care provided, and leading the nursing team.
Key Responsibilities- Incorporate scientific, behavioral, and humanistic principles into clinical practice.
- Utilize and adhere to departmental standards and practice guidelines.
- Apply nursing theory to assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate patient responses to health and illness.
- Assess patient healthcare preferences and expectations.
- Collaborate and coordinate the continuum of care across settings.
- Develop patient care plans based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions.
- Implement patient care plans according to patient priorities, documenting interventions and patient/family response.
- Collaborate and integrate patient and family contributions into multidisciplinary patient care plans.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement transfer/discharge planning throughout the episode of care.
- Implement nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Evaluate patient responses to multidisciplinary care and use evaluation data to revise and implement change.
- Assume accountability for the provision of care for patients and assume responsibility for care provided by self and other staff members under the nurse's direction.
- Evaluate the quality of nursing care provided by other staff members and participate as a member of the healthcare team utilizing effective communication skills.
- An Associate's Degree, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA).
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa.
- Desired qualifications include a minimum of 1-year inpatient nursing experience, experience working with Neuroscience patient populations, ambulatory nursing experience, and nursing certification.
