Job Summary:

As a CT Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality diagnostic images for our patients. Under direct supervision, you will operate CT scanners and other radiographic equipment, utilizing your knowledge, skills, and abilities to ensure accurate and efficient imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, including routine, emergent, biopsy, and special procedure examinations, in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and answering questions, while providing service-oriented communication.
  • Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure and ensure patient safety.
  • File work, reception, and computer functions, including PACs, and administer contrast media as directed.
  • Protocol exams according to established departmental directives and assist with screening patients for contraindications.
  • Participate in quality assurance functions, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements:
  • Minimum one year of experience as a CT technologist within the past two years or six months of experience in an acute hospital setting within the last year.
  • Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) required at hire.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Computed Tomography required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior CT work experience using helical and/or multi-detector technology.
  • Attendance at CT and cross-sectional anatomy courses.
  • Associates degree or higher in Radiologic Science or related field.
