Job Summary:

Provides nursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area. Supervises and mentors staff during assigned shift. Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, and patient acuity.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct patient care as needed. Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care, including formal evaluation, and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
  • Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.
  • Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
  • 1 year of nursing experience.
