Position Overview:
Geisinger is in search of a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist Oncologist to become part of a well-established cancer program at Selinsgrove Cancer Clinic. This role offers a distinctive opportunity for both early-career and seasoned hematology oncology practitioners to advance their careers within a respected and expanding physician-led organization. Our team collaborates closely with various specialties, including surgical oncology, palliative care, radiation oncology, pathology, diagnostic radiology, and behavioral health, to provide exceptional cancer care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Geisinger provides a stimulating intellectual environment, featuring the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, over 50 graduate medical education programs, and fellowship programs in hematology/oncology and palliative medicine. The health system has received NCI-NCORP designation and is dedicated to participating in cancer clinical trials. The medical school is recognized for its innovative educational approach, emphasizing active learning, longitudinal clinical experiences, and community involvement.
Our physicians engage with fellows and residents to mentor the next generation of hematology and oncology specialists while also having the chance to contribute to the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, a leading educational institution.
Our patients participate in the MyCode Community Health Initiative, with over 275,000 patient genomes sequenced for research and real-time clinical applications. Physicians interested in clinical or informatics research can collaborate within Geisinger and with external organizations to enhance patient care and advance scientific knowledge.
