Key Attributes

The Procurement Specialist must be customer-oriented and possess:
(1) the capacity to devise innovative solutions to diverse and complex procurement issues; (2) exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills to accurately document and convey findings and new concepts to various audiences; (3) outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities to influence and guide employees, managers, customers, and other external stakeholders; and (4) the skill to organize, schedule, and coordinate multiple work phases.

Responsibilities

• Process and finalize intricate purchase orders and subcontracts; ascertain prices from available suppliers that align with cost, quality, and schedule standards.

• Issue RFP/RFQs to support various programs and proposals.

• Manage and monitor procurement activities to ensure they meet specifications, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

• Ensure all procurement actions comply with applicable regulations (FAR, DFARS, CPSR, AS9100, etc.).

• Close out purchase orders upon receipt and final payment of all deliverable items.

• Research and maintain up-to-date supplier lists.

• Keep accurate records and files of all vendor agreements and related procurement documentation.

• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve any issues to ensure timely payments.

Qualifications

Required Skills:


• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant DoD purchasing experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Ability to perform a variety of general tactical duties as required to support purchasing activities.

• Proficient PC skills, particularly in Excel, Word, etc.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to perform efficiently under tight deadlines. Must be able to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision while demonstrating persistence in follow-through.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience in government contract accounting.

• Familiarity with Costpoint/Deltek is strongly preferred.
