Job Title: Plant Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Project Engineer to join our team at One Tech Engineering. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing emergent capital projects at our plant and supporting larger base and major capital projects specific to the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support reliability engineering by developing project scopes and justifications, submitting them through the capital request process, and managing all related projects.
  • Apply extensive technical expertise and have an understanding of the basic principles of other related disciplines.
  • Attend daily POD meetings, overseeing project execution, managing administrative tasks like developing scopes of work, obtaining quotes, and coordinating material deliveries and installations.
  • Lead projects of moderate to large size, scope, and complexity, applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Support the development of technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, reports, standards, etc.
  • Provide field engineering oversight and direction for activities such as support, testing, installation, inspections, commissioning, etc.
  • Coordinate/lead multiple projects or portions of projects, including phases such as research, design, equipment selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  • Represent the organization as the prime technical contact in the bid/evaluation processes, including preparation of bid documents, completion of technical evaluations for proposals, and providing recommendations for selection.
  • Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination with internal and external organizations.
  • Effectively and with precision resolve difficult technical/business matters, both inter-organizationally and with outside customer/vendors, using all formats of communication.
  • May assign tasks to and/or direct engineers, technicians, craft personnel, and other support staff, including coordination and review of work assignments.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers, responsible for continuous self-development of technical skills and competencies.
  • Lead activities such as budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, work order management, in support of engineering projects.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing/plant environment.
  • Bachelor's of Engineering degree.
  • Previous experience with project management and project plan development, charters, managing budgets, good with managing money, etc.
  • Previous experience managing contractors.
  • Experience with cradle-to-grave project management experience.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle several tasks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Completed the FE (fundamentals in engineering) exam or would like to.
