Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in our Inpatient Trauma Surgical Unit at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care to acutely ill surgical and trauma patients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to advocate for quality patient care and make decisions that promote patient safety and well-being.
  • Participate in acuity-based staffing ratios to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Minimum of six (6) months of nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
  • Preferred - Relevant RN experience and certification in a relevant specialty.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact.
  • CPR certification and ACLS obtained within six (6) months of hire.
