POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the guidance of medical professionals, the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for delivering treatment, management, control, diagnostic assessment, and care to patients experiencing deficiencies and irregularities in the cardio-pulmonary system.

This role also includes serving as a mentor, resource, preceptor, and leader for fellow department members, acting as a crucial link between clinical leadership and staff.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients as directed by medical staff.
  • Assist in the training and development of new staff members.
  • Ensure adherence to established protocols and best practices in respiratory therapy.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Formal education equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years of college).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Intubation Certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association.
  • Active Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
