We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Large Animal Husbandry Tech to join our team at Virginia Tech. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our large animal patients.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect animal facilities and equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Assist with receiving and storing animal feed and supplies
- Provide animal handling and restraint support as needed
- Participate in daily cleaning and maintenance of the Large Animal Clinic and its grounds
- Experience in large animal husbandry duties, including cleaning and maintaining animal facilities
- Ability to safely handle and restrain large animals
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ pounds)
- Ability to tolerate Rabies prophylaxis (provided by employer)
- Experience driving a forklift or standard shift truck with a gooseneck trailer
