Job Summary:

Air Methods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot Rotor Wing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our flight crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within our assigned operational area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to verify the aircraft's airworthiness and complete the Daily Flight Log.
  • Final authority on aircraft operations and passenger safety, ensuring compliance with Air Methods policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the medical flight team to ensure their familiarity and comfort with the aircraft's medical interior and systems.
  • Complete required documentation and participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, and community outreach.

Requirements:

  • Commercial & Instrument Rating for category and class of aircraft.
  • ATP rating in category meets this requirement.
  • First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
  • 2-5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Additional Requirements:

  • Regular scheduled attendance.
  • Subject to applicable laws and Air Methods policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
