Position Overview
Ahuja 5th floor is a specialized 36-bed medical/surgical unit equipped with cardiac monitoring capabilities, featuring all private rooms. Our patient demographic spans from young adults to seniors, providing care for individuals aged 18 to 100+.

On this unit, we adopt an interdisciplinary approach to deliver safe, patient-centered quality care, focusing on assisting patients in achieving their optimal health potential.

The team comprises a Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), and Clerical Associates.

We collaborate closely with the hospitalist team, community healthcare providers, and a variety of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants within the hospital.

Additionally, a night shift nurse practitioner and surgical app are available on most evening shifts, ensuring comprehensive care through effective collaboration with other hospital departments.

Common Patient Conditions:
COPD, Heart Failure, Stroke, Pneumonia, Asthma/Bronchitis, Urinary Tract Infections, Chronic Renal Failure, Dehydration, Diabetes Mellitus, Cellulitis, Pressure Ulcers, Wound Infections, Hospice Symptom Management, and Gastrointestinal Issues.

Our nursing staff provides safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and their families by utilizing the nursing process to help them attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health.

Qualifications:
Education
- Completion of an Accredited Nursing Program Diploma or
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred)
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficient understanding of nursing processes and practices (Required)
- Ability to utilize a variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and deliver prescribed clinical therapies (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and electronic monitoring devices) (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio and/or Multi-State Compact License (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on clinical area standards.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required based on clinical area standards.
