Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Mercyhealth. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in the processing and sterilization of medical instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Care for and reprocess surgical instrumentation, including disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, high-level disinfection, and sterilization.
  • Care for and operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other equipment.
  • Complete quality monitoring and documentation.
  • Pick supplies and instruments to prepare case carts for surgery.
  • Assist with supply inventory management and clinic instrument rounds.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and role modeling for new Sterile Processing Technicians.
  • Complete at least 12 credit hours of continuing education per year.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Over 1 year Sterile tech experience and/or Certificate from nationally recognized organization
  • Completion of Level 2 Competency Check-off list
