Job Overview

The Quality Technician at Evans Capacitor Co is tasked with ensuring the integrity of manufactured capacitors through rigorous inspection and testing protocols. This role is essential in maintaining compliance with established quality standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection Duties (30%):

  • Conduct thorough inspections of products and components to verify adherence to internal quality benchmarks.
  • Utilize standard inspection tools such as digital calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Perform and document First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 standards.
  • Log inspection outcomes and report any deviations from quality standards.

Testing Responsibilities (30%):

  • Execute electrical and functional assessments on capacitor assemblies, focusing on capacitance, Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR), and Direct Current Leakage (DCL).
  • Oversee the Burn-In process for capacitor assemblies to ensure reliability.
  • Employ testing equipment to troubleshoot and confirm product performance.
  • Update electronic test data within the ERP system and maintain accurate documentation of test procedures and results.

In-Process Quality Checks (20%):

  • Monitor manufacturing processes and conduct regular quality assessments.
  • Identify and rectify potential quality concerns during production.
  • Collaborate with production teams to enhance quality measures.

Calibration and Metrology (20%):

  • Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments, ensuring accuracy in measurements.
  • Perform routine checks and document calibration activities.
  • Coordinate calibration services for equipment not maintained in-house.
Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma is required. A trade school or associate degree in a relevant technical field, along with one year of experience, is highly preferred.

Experience: Typically requires 2 to 5 years of inspection experience within a manufacturing setting.

Skills: A solid understanding of inspection processes and procedures, alongside strong time management and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Excel, Word) is essential.
