We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc.

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining fleet road equipment including tractors and trailers while ensuring compliance with state and federal trucking regulations. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, completing documentation, and providing road rescue services as needed.

The position requires a minimum of three years of commercial diesel mechanic experience or two years with relevant refrigeration certification. About the Job
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with heavy equipment and machinery
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems with tractor-trailers, engines, transmissions, and other components
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all vehicles meet regulatory requirements
  • Document repairs and maintenance in a timely and accurate manner
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or refrigeration technician
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics, including hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air brake systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
