Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Technician to join our team at SOS International LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, update, and maintain medical records for patients, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Verify and file medical documentation, ensuring timely and accurate processing of records.
  • Perform daily checks within the electronic health record system, addressing any outstanding items with the appropriate staff member.
  • Monitor ongoing tasks for completeness and ensure accuracy and timeliness of available information for providers.
  • Utilize the electronic health record system to schedule appointments, perform data entry, and run data reports.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a medical record technician, medical record clerk, unit secretary, or similar position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain pre-employment medical clearance.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of standard electronic medical record procedures, methods, and requirements.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to manage high volume of medical records daily, including intake, discharge, and requests for records from outside sources.
  • Ability to recognize documentation inconsistencies and take appropriate action to resolve.
  • Ability to maintain electronic medical record system and ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish.
  • Prior experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
