Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Labor and Delivery. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
  • Monitor vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions to assess the progress of labor.
  • Assist physicians and midwives during labor and delivery, administering medications and providing emotional support to mothers.
  • Prepare the labor and delivery rooms, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
  • Educate mothers and families on labor, pain management options, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  • Perform routine newborn assessments immediately after delivery, including Apgar scoring and initial care.
  • Manage emergency situations, such as postpartum hemorrhage or fetal distress, by implementing appropriate interventions and notifying the healthcare team.
  • Document all patient care, procedures, medications, and observations in electronic health records (EHR).
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of labor and delivery procedures, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to manage emergency situations and provide compassionate care in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Active [STATE] Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse or in a similar role.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
