About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Home Health Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a member of our healthcare team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist registered physical therapists in administering therapeutic modalities, instructing patients, and supervising established therapeutic exercises and activities. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer therapeutic modalities with the use of specialized equipment
  • Instruct patients on general health and basic self-care procedures
  • Review, explain, and clarify physician orders with patients or parents
  • Apply orthopedic appliances and remove dressings
  • Initiate emergency procedures, including CPR, and provide emergency patient treatment
  • Lift patients and monitor their vital signs
  • Monitor patients for bleeding and observe machine monitors
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures
  • Provide therapeutic patient care as prescribed by a physician
  • Observe and monitor patient condition for reactions during and after procedures
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Successful completion of clinical competencies during internship
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program with an Associate or Science degree in Physical Therapy or California Examining Committee equivalent
  • Physical Therapist Assistant Certificate (California)
