Diesel Mechanic

Lawrence Companies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Waynesboro, VA. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and equipment.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines and equipment
• Perform component exchanges and repairs
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations
• Enhance the service department's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

• Comprehensive knowledge of general mechanics, including brakes, drive train, A/C and heat, cooling systems, electrical components, electronics, steering and suspension, diesel components, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and welding abilities
• Familiarity with diesel engine repair and maintenance, including OSHA regulations
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Must have the technical knowledge of truck equipment required, including transmissions, engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Must exhibit a sense of urgency, strong analytical skills, and great attention to detail
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment necessary for diagnostic purposes
• Must have own tools
• 2-3 years previous experience
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Must be able to frequently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, reach, and climb
• Basic computer skills
• Welding experience is a plus
• Must be able to maintain all service-related documents
• Valid driver's license required
